Grand Islander Center located in Middletown,RI currently has an opportunity for an experienced Nurse Manager for their Brand New Sub Acute Unit GrandIslander is a 148 bed center providing long and short term care center. We are currently looking for a Nurse Manger for our TCU unit. This is our short term stay unit, very busy and exciting environment Twenty four hour responsibility for the continuity of nursing care and the management of the customer welfare. Position Summary: Works collaboratively with the Short Stay regional team and Center Management Team to design, implement, and evaluate short stay programs. Acts as both an administrative and clinical leaders to promote mission, philosophy, and high standards of care for the short stay population. Ensure that patient admission and discharge criteria are met. Ensure residents receive all appropriate program components. Coordinate the development of and adherence to program protocols and standards. Promotes interdisciplinary functioning for the short stay program(s). Facilitates and provides patient and family education. Provides, approves and maintains resources for patient education. Tracks and analyses outcomes for performance improvement. Oversees program performance improvement. Develops and implements yearly program marketing plan. In collaboration with regional and local marketing staff, markets program by serving as liason to community, physicians, and other health care facilities. Participates in program budget development and fiscal performance review. Facilitates and provides staff education. Provides, approves, and maintains resources for staff education. Interviews and makes recommendations for hiring and termination of all staff working with the program. Participates in probationary and annual evaluation of all program personnel. Collaborates with clinical departments to ensure that clinical staff skill and competency is maintained to meet program goals. Is responsible for overall customer satisfaction with program and promptly mobilizes resources to resolve customer concerns. Participates in center customer at risk meetings and process. Participates in center quality improvement activities. Regular communication concerning program functions with Director of Nursing and Administrator and other appropriate staff. Provides regular report to regional program staff regarding program functioning and program director activities. Attends regional program director development activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Associate Degree in Nursing, 4 years of nursing experience. Diploma, 3 years of nursing experience. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, 2 years nursing experience. Masters Degree, 1 year nursing experience. Successful completion of experience in leadership (i.e. head nurse, supervisor, etc.) for a minimum of one year. Current licensure by the State Board of Examiners of Nurses in the Centers state.
