Hilary, This invitation can be sent to all email addresses in North Town Woods, Commodore,  Commodore West and Sakai Village BUT first we need a commitment from you and the BI Energy Challenge Team to help us prevent PSE from adding new Transmission Lines that would go by schools or neighborhoods on the island.   Not only is this a Health Issue, keeping EMF's away from schools & neighborhoods, it's also an Environmental and Property Value issue.   I don't think any of the Energy Challenge Team members would want to live under high voltage transmission lines.  If PSE needs to add capacity, all they have to do is install another 25 MW transformer in either the Winslow or Murden Cove substation or both.  The current transmission lines are 99% Reliable and exposing school & neighborhood children to a 70% greater risk of Leukemia is unacceptable (see Bob McCready's article in today's Bainbridge Review). PSE has a 30 foot right-of-way along most of their proposed routes.  Tom Brobst, PSE arborist, told me that all new electric poles must be 10 feet off the fog line (white line on edge of road).  This means that PSE will remove all trees in a 20 foot swath along roads where new lines are installed.   All the old growth trees across from the Sportsman Gun Club would be removed.  Many residents in North Town Woods would lose 50% of their existing buffer from Sportsman Club Road.  Road noise, air and sound pollution would be substantially increased.  House values will be reduced by $50,000 or more and those houses would be less than 100 feet from high voltage lines.   Please talk this over with your team and let us know what your position is.   Thanks, Lynn - Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text -
