Oh, I like the sound of a review

- - - - I've been reading this book series called 'Private' and it's interesting, but I'm going to forget the plot of it, just for this assignment. I've finished the books of Private, with the exception of the latest one - Suspicion. Now that I'm done, I have read the three books of the Spin-Off Series (Privilege) and will read the Prequel (Last Christmas). Below, I've pasted some of the Literary Themes and described which ones fit the Series. [Ambition] This characteristic is vital in the life of Reed Brennan. She desires fame, power, money and wants to be included into the group of the 'Billings Girls' (the most popular, beautiful girls on Campus). Ariana in the Spin-Off series has to start her life over, and has the Ambition to kill Kaitylnn Nottingham and is ambitious for more power, as she had to change her identity. On a side note, one of the books in the Series was called 'Ambition'! [Beauty] Private and Privilege were Teen-Lit, and explores the world of the Rich and Famous. Of course, beauty would be an essential theme in these books. Plastic surgery and things like that, you name it. [Betrayal] This happens a lot in the series. Ariana was betrayed by Kaitlynn when she killed Briana Leigh and Kaitlynn snapped at her for not taking enoughtmoney. Betrayed by Thomas Pearson and Ryan for cheating on her with other girls. Of course, this is Teen-Lit! [Freedom] This was a vital Theme in Privilege, where Ariana escapes from her Mental Institution. She tells us about how she's 'free to start a new life!' Yeah, too much plot in here to describe. Then again, Reed has mentioned she was 'free' from Croton, PA and could start a new life in Easton Academy. [Jealousy] You mean all those cheaters in this book flirting with other girls? Ariana was jealous of Reed and Thomas and Thomas and Melissa, and [spoiler] murdered Melissa and Thomas [/end spolier] [Love] Definitely. It seemed like everyone had a girlfriend/boyfriend at one point in the story. There was also that Friendship love as well, where they'd help each other out. [Suffering] Ariana is constantly being tortured (Mentally, mostly) by Kaitlynn Nottigham as she says that she will reveal her secret past. From what I read, Ariana suffers everytime. To faking her death and suffered going to her own funeral and seeing her parents cry over Ariana's fake body. [Truth] Truth in these books mean like 'Who killed Thomas Pearson?' and that, was revealed in the fifth book. Ariana is hiding the truth of her identity, but I suspect that the TRUTH will be revealed sooner or later. Reed discovers the truth of Thomas Pearson (he's a drug- dealer!). Noelle discovers he boyfriend was cheating on her while he was drunk. Anyway, the thing that surprised me the most was the Truth in this book. For my own narrative, I think I'll go with these themes. Courage, Duty, Fear, Jealousy, Loyalty, Truth, Ambition, Happiness and maybe a hint of Love, Perseverance and Prejudice? Truth be told, I can write in other Themes, but my strong point does not point at 'Love'. Because, I don't know how excatly two people fall in love (not puppy-dog love, real, pure love). However, I will try to write something romantic, because the more I practice, the better I will be. Right? Courage is one of my favourites in a book. It's nice to know that a character is courageous enough to do something or to stand up for their own beliefs. Duty is something else I'd like to explore. When we were reading Airborn in Grade 7, duty was also a Theme in the book. Matt Cruse was a Cabinboy and the way he had to look after Kate De Vries was interesting, so I'd like to explore the Theme Duty a little more. Fear is another thing that to me, is interesting to read. Everyone is scared of something, and I'd like to know what. I can't exactly put the out the words to describe it, but I know that Fear will be included in my story. Jealousy to me, is interesting. When one is jealous of another and you get to know why and more about the person themselves. Loyalty is something else I'll include. Sometimes, I also like 'Anti- Loyatly' which means the person is not loyal to the person. But in my narrative, I would like to use Loyalty and see how that works out. The Truth is shocking and that's what sometimes, makes a Story so great. Whether only one person knows, and the rest don't; it's like Irony. You know, but the rest don't. Ambition is something else I want to try to write about. I don't want to write a book about achieving Fame or Power, but achieving Power, or Strength. Happiness is something else I'd like to include. I've never been so sad in my life that I was depressed for days - so I don't know how it feels like. Therefore, I can relate to Happiness more, because I'm mostly happy. Prejudice, maybe. I can't explain quite yet, I'll post again if I thought of the reason and can type it out. Now, here are the Themes I DIDN'T use. Beauty, I feel that is not essential in my narrative. I find that most books I like don't include how beautiful characters are. Betrayal, maybe a pinch of this will be used. But this is not a recurring theme in my story, and is not important to my narrative anyways. Freedom is not needed in my story. The characters are free in the story, thus, freedom is not needed in my narrative. Loneliness will not be a Theme in my story. Suffering is not important in my story. I would use something like a character feeling sad, but they won't be fully 'suffering'. Oh... that was long. There's porbably going to be errors, but I like talking about stories and describing them. Lunch now!
