Danny and I are planning a trip to the mountains in colorado during Elk hunting week this fall. I do NOT want him confused with coyotes or wolves by hunters/city slickers which will be combing the mountain side.Danny was shot by hunters when he was a puppy while wearing a hunter orange vest. ?The hunters saw the white tail, and thought he was a rabbit. They never saw his vest. I was only feet away at the time. His OFA hips xrays bear testimony to the experience. When his current vet first took xrays of him, he saw all the white lead pellets and said, He's been shot! (I told him that was old

) Although I plan on him never getting farther than 25 yards away at any time, I had a doberman puppy once get run over by a snow mobile while on a 6 foot leash once. So I don't want to take chances. They have hunter orange vests. but past experience tells me that's not enough. I'm thinking of spray painting him (ESPECIALLY HIS TAIL) iridescent orange so that he's always visible as something NOT a target. Any reason why not?
