Hi all, I and my wife to be are booked on the Majesty of the Seas for our honeymoon in June,1999 (I get excited just thinking about it). I have been doing a lot of research on the Net to find out things to see/do/etc. My fiancee loves horseback riding, so we are planning on taking the beach horseback riding shore excursion at Ocho Rios, my question is how long does that take? Do we time to go climb Dunn's River Falls as well and do a little shopping? What's the best way to fit all this in, if it's possible at all since the ship is only there from 8AM - 6PM (according to RCI's Web site)? Should I venture out on our own and take a cab or should we stay with the shore excursions offered by the ship? Any advice or tips from previous Majesty cruisers would be appreciated. Gib

We went on Majesty of the sea last year. It was a great trip and our first cruise. Our next crusise is 7 days away with Grandeur. Anyway, this is my recommendation (for what it's worth!). Jamaica-The natives/locals can be pushy. Go to Dunns River Falls. It's a guided tour and we missed this and heard it was great. Friends went horseback riding

Hi. We went on Majesty in augest. It was wonderful! As you have heard the locals in Jamaica Are pushy. We went On the Brimer Hall Plantation-Dunes Falls-shoping tour. It cost $53 each and lasted about 5 hours. What we liked about this tour is the opertunity you have to see the real Jamaica. You start out on an a/c bus. Our first stop was the Falls. we were the first bus there so it wasn't packed. They give you about 1 hour to look around. Please understand that climbing the Falls is Not included. But it is very reasonable rate to climb. Be prepared as you exit to the bus!!! This is where the merchants set up shop and they have no problem geting up close and personal . After the Falls adventure, we were taken to the Taj mahal shoping center with about 1hr 15min to wonder around. And as you will hear the best place to buy watches is in Ocho Rios. Our final stop of the tour was to the beautiful Brimmer Hall Plantation. Apon ariveing, you board tractor drawn jitneys for an iteresting tour of the plantation. Your guides are the dirver and a worker( I belive thats what he is) stops are made ofton. Some of the things you will see include coconut trees(the woker will scale one of the trees barefoot ) sugercane, pineapple plants, Acca and bread fruit and more. After your tractor tour is compleated, your options include a walk in the Great House at no extra charge, looking through the little shops, and sampleing some of the produce ofthe plantation with fruit or rum punch. From the plantation you return directly to the ship. What a wonderful way to spend the day. If more info is needed please respond via e-mial. Give me liberty,or give me Death!
