My question is pretty simple, does or does not one need a professional license to purchase hair dyes at Sally's? Thanks in advance for clearing up this mystery for me. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

My question is pretty simple, does or does not one need a professional license to purchase hair dyes at Sally's? Nope. There are some items in the store that have a 0.00 price- those are the only ones that you need a license to purchase. Everything else is fair game.

no you dont. but if you want to get the dyes that require you to mix developer and color, stay away from those. the color doesnt last long even though it says permanent. I would recommend just going to a local grocerie store to get ready made hair dye in a box, you will be glad that you did. elisa

made hair dye in a box, you will be glad that you did. elisa Hmm. these days I always use the clairol complements line that I get at sally. i used grocery store colors for 8 years and never found that any of those lasted any better than this. also, buying developer separately means that i can get creme instead of liquid, which i love, i hate drippiness. what volume developer did you use? oh, i also used the bleach gel from the same line and quite liked it. granted this was the first time i've ever bleached (never quite dared before), but it was very easy and my hair is in excellent condition. i almost forgot to mention, it's also much cheaper than spending $7 every 6 weeks at the grocery store. ruhiel, what sorts of things have the 0.00 price? i've never seen anything so marked and am curious as to what products cross the licensing line, so to speak... iphigenia

At my Sally's, they never ask for a license when I purchase hair dyes. I've never seen a policy saying they only sell to licensed professionals, so it shouldn't be a problem. Miss T -*-*-*
