In my area, you can't buy hair coloring at Sally Beauty Supply without being a licensed cosmetologist. About all you can get there are things like brushes and shampoo and curlers...... Yep, when my daughter buys certain things (salon formula perms or hair coloring) at Sally Beauty supply she has to show her cosmetology license before they will sell it to her.

I saw hair color dye for men at CVS in MASS. They sold for $5.99, and looked 1/3 the size of women's. So there is hope...however...all the shades were dark... Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

Yep, when my daughter buys certain things (salon formula perms or hair coloring) at Sally Beauty supply she has to show her cosmetology license before they will sell it to her. I bought hair color at Sally's (in suburban St. Louis, Missouri). They wouldn't sell me perms, but I bought color several times a year. Did I just get lucky not to be carded or is it a regional rule that says you must be licenced? Connie

they're not going to encourage me to save money by using half, so I I don't see why they wouldn't tell you if you can use half of it. They know sometimes people mix colors or have really short hair. They could probably even give you a precise date as to when to use it by. Actually now that I think of it, don't the instructions always tell you how to do a test strand? Well, that involves using only a little bit of product. good luck! Laurie
