Diva, If your careful you can store each half seperately. However, you could also go to a Sally's or Beauty Co.(beauty supply stores) and buy the color that you are using and your own bottle of developer it would be far cheaper and you could still use only 1/2 the color bottle at a time. You would mix equal parts of color and developer (Get 20 volume, and cream would be easier to manage than liquid, though the liquid would probably make it go farther) For this you would need to make a one time investment in a color bottle (aprox. $1.00-$1.99). And, if it is dark color some plastic gloves. Hope this helps. Stacie

I wouldn't keep them, after opening they are exposed to oxygen and will go off quickly making the last half less effective That's why the color comes in an amber bottle. It is light sensitive. Keep it cool and dark, and it will last a couple of weeks, even if the bottle has been opened. I used to keep it in the refrigerator if only half was used. You're right though- it's not as stable once it's opened.
