I have a question about home hair coloring kits. My hair is fairly fine and not too long, and I could do the job with just half of the solution. Is it safe to mix just half of the color and activator together and recap the remainder of the two bottles/tubes? Yes, I know that you NEVER store pre-mixed solution! But if you leave half of each bottle (unmixed), could you store it for the next time? I thought about calling the company help line, but then I realized they're not going to encourage me to save money by using half, so I thought I'd ask here! : ) Thanks for any advice! Diva

I've called the Clairol 800-number, and they've been very frank with me about what I should or shouldn't do, irrespective of whether they're going to make money from me.

Even the instruction tell you to only mix up a portion of the ingredients if you are just coloring your beard. The mixing container is set up just for that with these kits. I can get almost 4 beard colorigs fronm one kit, or 2 hair colorings from one kit. Rick, is my hair grey? Only my hairdresser knows for sure!
